Minutes of Meeting – 15/07/2024

As informed on 13.07.2024, the first meeting of Governing Body was held on 15.07.2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the boardroom at Kashi Institute of Technology, Varanasi. The meeting was chaired by Shri P.K. Jain, Chairperson of the Governing Body.

Director Dr. Gaurav Sinha welcomed all the members for participating in the meeting and informed that the institute has been granted Autonomous status for the next ten years by UGC, New Delhi, on 10th July, 2024. The members appreciated the efforts taken by the institute over the past years. The Chairperson Shri P.K. Jain started the proceedings.

The following points were discussed in the meeting:

Agenda 1: Discussion on various regulations of Autonomous College.

A detailed discussion was held on various regulations of Autonomous College. Director Dr. Gaurav Sinha informed that Appointment Regulation 2024, Fee Regulation 2024, Course and Examination Regulation 2024, and Admission Regulation 2024 have been prepared as per various Clauses of the UGC (Conferment of Autonomous Status upon colleges and Measures for Maintenance of Standards in Autonomous Colleges) Regulations, 2023, and submitted in the meeting to all members of the Governing Body for discussion.

Agenda 2: Discussion on various Statutory and Non-statutory Committees.

Dr. Gaurav Sinha informed that various Statutory and Non-statutory Committees have been prepared as per various Clauses of the UGC Regulations, 2023, and submitted in the meeting to all members of the Governing Body for discussion.

Agenda 3: Discussion on various nominees (Industrialist/ Academician/ Member from University/ Member from State Government)

The Director Dr. Gaurav Sinha informed that various nominees are to be nominated for various Statutory Committees of an autonomous institution as per the following details:

• Academic Council: Four nominees as Industry/Academic experts
• Finance Committee: One nominee
• Governing Body: One nominee

After thorough discussion in the meeting, it has been decided to nominate the following persons for the above-mentioned committees:

Finance Committee	(i) Mr. Vatsal Jain
Governing Body	(i) Prof. P. N. Tiwari (Educationist)

It has been further resolved that the Governing Body will have the right to remove or add any member to the above-mentioned committees.

Agenda 4: Any other point with permission of the Chairperson.

Since there were no other points to discuss, the meeting ended with thanks to the Chair and all the members of the Governing Body for their enthusiastic participation and valuable suggestions. The next meeting of the Governing Body is scheduled on 29th July, 2024 (Monday).
